480 Second Response Capabilities – NFPA 1710 Ma

NFPA 1710 is a national fire service standard, developed by the National Fire Protection Association that requires 15 fire fighters to be present on the scene of a structural fire within the first 8 minutes of a structural fire.

This map shows the Mayors Fire plan (12-18 on duty fire fighters) as presented to city officials. Using a computer based GIS mapping software, the computer was asked to illustrate where 15 fire fighters could be assembled in 8 minutes, the green area in the mid map area is the only area that would be NFPA compliant, all areas in yellow would be areas that would be unable to be covered according to NFPA 1710.

The area in blue is the area (A tax district) that the SFRD can cover within the NFPA standard.

A better level of protection, Mayor Pavia????

You be the judge.
